The Challenge
The client, a growing New Zealand finance company, needed to automate transaction classification across their lending portfolio. Manual processing was becoming a bottleneck as transaction volumes grew, and they needed intelligent categorisation to support compliance reporting and business intelligence.
Our Approach
We designed and built a custom ML pipeline for transaction classification, including feature engineering tailored to financial transaction data, model selection and training, and a deployment architecture that integrates directly with the client's existing systems. The solution was built to be maintainable and extensible by the client's own team.
The Results
The system is now deployed in production, processing thousands of transactions with high accuracy. It has significantly reduced manual processing time and improved the consistency of transaction classification. Gambit Labs provides ongoing model monitoring and maintenance.
