Taran John

Founder & Lead ML Engineer. PhD candidate at Victoria University of Wellington, NASA JPL External Research Associate, and EvoStar Best Paper 2024 winner. Specialises in evolutionary computation, medical imaging, and financial ML. His research has been published in IEEE TETCI, GECCO, EvoStar, and Applied Soft Computing. Outside academia, Taran delivers end-to-end ML solutions for real-world business problems — from model design to production deployment.

Mohnish Ramanujam

ML Engineer with first-class honours in Software Engineering (AI specialisation) from Victoria University of Wellington. Currently at TradeMe — New Zealand's largest online marketplace — building and maintaining ML infrastructure at scale. Mohnish brings deep expertise in model serving, monitoring, pipelines, and production ML operations. He knows what it takes to keep ML systems running reliably — not just in a notebook, but in production with real users.

Will Scott-Rodriguez

Developer bridging business strategy and technical execution. Commerce degree from Victoria University of Wellington with years of full-stack development experience. As a founding engineer at Pioneer Finance, Will designed the entire database and tech stack from the ground up — architecting infrastructure, data models, and production systems end-to-end. His deep experience shipping fintech products from zero to one brings a strong foundation in scalable system design and product-driven engineering to Gambit Labs.
